Mental Health Therapist
Bilingual Therapist | Trauma-Informed | Trained in CBT

Hello, I’m Joel. I’m a proud New Mexico native, born and raised in Albuquerque, and I carry a deep appreciation for the natural beauty, cultural richness, and community spirit of the Southwest. This place has shaped who I am, and it continues to inspire the work I do as a therapist.

I bring over three years of clinical experience, with a strong focus on supporting boys, teens, and adult men through compassionate, individualized care. As a bilingual therapist fluent in English and Spanish, I’m committed to expanding access to mental health services for diverse and underserved communities. My approach is grounded in empathy, cultural humility, and a genuine commitment to social equity.

I earned my B.A. in Psychology and Religious Studies in 2019 and my Master’s in Counseling in 2022, both from the University of New Mexico. In addition to my clinical background, I also bring experience in business operations and leadership — a combination that supports my strategic, thoughtful approach to therapy and care coordination.

My therapeutic style is primarily rooted in trauma-informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I work with teens, adults, couples, and individuals from marginalized backgrounds, helping clients build resilience, discover their inner strengths, challenge limiting beliefs, and create meaningful, lasting change.

Outside of the therapy room, you’ll most likely find me hiking, backpacking, engaging in activism, or exploring new cultures through travel. These activities keep me grounded, curious, and connected — qualities I bring into my work with every client I meet.

I look forward to walking alongside you as you move toward healing, growth, and a deeper connection with yourself and your story.
